2017 NamesHey guys, I hope you all had an amazing new year and are feeling great about the year to come. To help keep you feeling informed as we head into 2017 I have compiled a list of people you should be keeping your eye on this year in fashion and beauty as I expect exciting things to come. I am super excited about developing this blog this year as I have just purchased a brand new DSLR camera and am hoping to have a complete blog revamp some time soon. This will also be the year I will be heading out into the world alone to study Fashion Design at University (ahhhh!) and I am really excited to share the whole experience with you guys! So hopefully that, alongside the list below, will get you pumped for the exciting things to come in 2017!!!

1. Selah Marley –

Daughter of Lauryn Hill and Rohan Marley. She is the newest model to feast your eyes on this year. Lilly Rose Depp better watch out because Selah is the new girl in town. She walked for Yeezy’s Season 4 show, Chanel, covered Wonderland magazine and just realised new music on soundcloud she is one to watch.

2. Letty Shmiterlow –

Letty is a photographer who photographed Adwoa Aboah (a need to know name from last year) for the female gaze issue of I-D. She has also done editorials for I-D magazine and Dazed.

3. Monica Ainley –

Any of you street style fanatics probably already follow her on instagram. She dresses in beautiful outfits with loose silhouettes and layered tailoring that she often shares on social media. It is also worth subscribing to her podcast “Fashion: No Filter”.

4. Brand: Isa Arfen –

Isa is an Italian born designer and a Central Saint Martins graduate. After gaining experience with Marni, Chloe, Lanvin and Marc Jacobs she has started her own brand which provides playful and chic garments for women in jewelled tones, some of her bigger fans include the likes of FKA twigs and Rihanna.

5. Craig Green –

For all you guys out there don’t worry I haven’t forgotten you. I have a need to know menswear designer for you; Craig Green, who won menswear designer of the year at last years fashion awards. He is going to be expanding his business into one of Britain’s most exciting fashion houses this year. His concepts have reshaped menswear over the last 5 years and will continue to do so into this year.

6. Ella Purnell –

many of you will know her as an actress but this Brit is also going places in the fashion world. After frequently appearing in the front row of shows such as Burberry, Dior’s Cruise show and Gucci’s Resort show she modelled for the cover of Wonderland Magazine. It wouldn’t be a surprise to us if her modelling CV because as great as her acting CV in 2017.

7. Nami Yoshida –

A highly creative and talented make up artist from Japan who now considers magazine such as I-D, Pop and Dazed as regular clients. Her work creates very abstract beauty and is something to keep your eye on this year. I would definitely recommended checking out her Instagram feed. Maybe not for everyday makeup inspirations, but to check out this talented artist.

8. Damaris Goddrie –

A dutch model who started her career a couple of years ago walking for J.W Anderson, Fendi and Simone Rocha and has recently walked for Chanel and Stella McCartney. Also she’s campaigning for Paul Smith and Topshop’s Christmas campaign. From all those big names it would seem she is a supermodel in the making.

9. Brand: Bruta –

We have talked quite a lot on this blog last year about the growing popularity and demand for gender neutral clothes so it seems only right to give you a need to know name of a gender neutral brand. Bruta, founded by Arthur Yates, is a clothing and ceramics brand that specialise in shirts focusing on intricate details, they include phenomenal embroidery and prints in each design. The shirts have been featured in both “The Business of Fashion” and “Vogue” so it is definitely a brand to watch out for this year.

10. Brand: Jacquemus –

This brand was launched by Simon Porte Jacquemus. You may have seen his designs on the likes of Solange Knowles and Rihanna. Recently he as reinvigorated the French fashion scene with his deconstructed designs and exaggerated proportions. If you’re a fan of asymmetric cuts and voluminous sleeves (like the ones seen in February’s Vogue) then you will love their designs.

Is there anyone I’ve missed out or should know about? let me know in the comments below xx
