So this is part two of my Africa posts. If you haven’t read part one it’s worth checking that out first at http://hebesophia.com/south-africa-edit-part-1. As I said in my last post there are just too many photos for one. Today’s post focuses on the Pilanesberg safari portion of my trip, mainly with photos of the animals i saw. I was really lucky with what i saw whilst i was there. Especially since it was only two days, often people see very little.
Whilst I was on the safari I saw a pack of 4 lions with one male and 2 cheetahs which is incredible bearing in mind the’re only 9 in the whole park. I also saw a black Rhino which is actually rarer than seeing a lion, which if you’ve ever been you will know is super hard! The giraffe features below had sadly slipped and broken her leg. We were told that she would probably be put down and fed to the older lions who struggle to hunt. However we learned the next day she was to the ‘animal hospital’ and will be returned to the park when she recovers!
Elephant are my favourite animals so i was so excited to get so close to one! It truly was a magical and slightly emotional experience. We also saw shed loads of hippos. Hippos are surprisingly aggressive and even growled at us. However it was still cool to be so close to them. Anyway i know the photos are much more exciting than me rambling on so enjoy them below and let me know if you have any questions. Also if you have any holiday or safari experiences you want to share let me know in the comments below! Enjoy 🙂 xx
